Administrators, enrolment officers and assessors can schedule and change classes. Read-only staff can view them. A course defines what is taught, including its units. A class is a scheduled delivery of that course. A session is one meeting of the class. A booking places one student in the class.

Find or schedule a class

Open Courses and choose the course. Its class picker starts at Every class; select the class you need. The course area also provides day and calendar views. To schedule a class, choose Schedule a class from Courses or the course’s details page:
  1. Choose the Course and enter a Class name.
  2. Set Start date, End date and Location.
  3. Check How it’s delivered and Status.
  4. Enter Places if the class has a capacity; leave it blank for no limit.
  5. Add Notes if needed, then choose Save class.
Dates are the location’s own calendar dates. Check the location and delivery defaults even when they have been filled from the course. The class uses the course’s units. Once a course has classes, its unit membership is fixed. Use a different course when a different set of units is needed.

Assign trainers and assessors

On the class, find Trainers and assessors. Choose a Trainer and Role, then choose Assign. The role can cover training, assessment or both. Review any qualification, matrix or working-under-direction warnings. Assignment warnings can allow the assignment to save; they still need attention. A trainer working under direction cannot record assessments through the portal. An administrator must also link the person’s login to their trainer record before they can use the trainer portal for the class.

Continue the class setup

Choose Book a student to add a booking, or Sessions and attendance to schedule meetings and manage their rolls. Use Edit details to change class information. Automatic class emails depend on your organisation’s workflow settings. The class’s Mute for this class action pauses its automatic emails; Unmute allows them again.
